I get asked a lot…A lot…A LOT on why I don’t choose a performing major. I know how to play too many instruments to decide which to perform with. Orchestras/Symphonies/etc 99% of the time only let you play one instrument and never switch. I like all the instruments I play. I chose them for a reason. SO why not stick to something I am great at. Composing. :) I still get to play my instruments to check how they sound in the piece I’m composing and I was always good…great…too great at music theory (thanks to my piano teacher who would hit me if I didn’t know everything there is to know. She was cool and nice though and I thank her for that :) )
I developed a great ear and play most of my stuff by ear and the first time I ever solo-ed for band I was already in the major leagues. lol. I just have a great ear when it comes to improv or composing and I like composing works. It’s fun and I am great at everything there is to composing; scales (all of them), chords, transposing, keys, etc.
I also can pick up instruments very quickly. I have had a great and heavy music background (and engineering background). I know the basics of guitar, drums, timpani, marimba, trumpet, and trombone. 

SO….Stop asking me why I’m not taking a performing major >:O! I can still perform without it. Many musicians do. I will also contribute more to the music world with composing. In my head at least. I also want to be able to conduct my own works. Seems like a lot of fun to be up there and my back is towards the audience which is good for my anxiety BD (I’m so weird. lol) I already have tons of ideas and works already in progress on my super cool software I got for free BD lol.

Besides I’m doing a double major. Mechanical Engineering with a concentration in Mechatronics. Why? Because there is another instrument needed to be added to the list. The instruments of destruction and instruments of self defense. Weapons and defense systems BD


AND I KNOW THEY’RE TOTAL OPPOSITES! :( I just happened to love them both :) (no one even congratulates me on taking on a double major -.- they just mention how opposite my majors are -.- lol)

Anyway. Cleared the air for a couple of questions constantly thrown in my face. XD Any more?

I don’t know. Just thought I needed to clear the air with that. lol
